‘Lobi Stars only played for five minutes’, says Pillars boss Lionel Soccoia


Kano Pillars gaffer Emmanuel Lionel Soccoia is furious following his team’s underwhelming performance against Lobi stars in Makurdi on Sunday.

Pillars were left frustrated in the Match Day 11 fixture of the NPFL against their hosts at the Aper Aku Stadium.

They failed to recover from Austin Ogunye’s early minute strike which proved to the decisive.

The goal also helped Lobi stars return to winning ways after going 5 games without a win in the league, while Pillars remain without a point against big sides away from home this season.

Speaking after the game the French Coach slammed Lobi Stars players and accused them of going down easily through out the game.

“We can’t play football here, in the second half we just played 5 minutes and the rest of the game their players where falling down. That’s no football, we can’t play football like that.

“They got their goal in the fifth minute, played good football but after they (Lobi Players) where falling on the pitch like this (He demonstrated).”

Kano Pillars with 20 points from 11 games occupies the third position on the log while Lobi stars moves to 8th on 16 points from the same number of games.

Next for Pillars is the home clash against nonperforming Sunshine stars at the Ahmadu Bello stadium.
