Nigerian music star Ayodeji Balogun aka Wizkid left many of his fans surprised after making an appearance at the just concluded 14th Headies Award. The singer hopped on a flight all the way from Ghana to witness the award show which held in Lagos, Nigeria.
His attendance comes as a shock as the singer among many others has been known to snub the award show in the past.
In 2019, the Ojuelegba crooner had most colleagues in the industry attending his show at the O2 Arena on the same night the Headies award was going on.

Interestingly, Wizkid’s attendance was not in vain as he emerged as the winner of some of his nominated categories including one of the biggest and most anticipated awards of the night. The singer won the 2020 Viewer’s Choice award.

Wizkid also emerged as the Artiste of the Year in a category that had colleagues Burna Boy, Davido, Tiwa Savage and Mayorkun nominated. This makes it the third time he has won the category. Wizkid won the category in 2012, 2016 and 2020.
